Computer Desk Chairs
Since many of us sit in computer desk chairs for long stretches at a time it is important to determine which ones are the most comfortable for us. Making the right choice can determine how well and how efficiently our time is spent.
When you make your selection you need to determine what characteristics you will be looking for in a model. Are you wanting something classy like a leather computer chair or are you simply wanting to find the best computer chair for your situation without any regard to status symbols.
If you have nagging back trouble or if you experience discomfort from prolonged periods of sitting then you may want to consider a model that offers additional lumbar support. There are varieties that have extra padding in the lower back area or that have firmer settings to rest your lumbar area against.
An ergonomic computer chair may be the best option for you. These accentuate the natural curvature of the spine and match its pattern so that the two align perfectly. This creates a flow from what you are sitting against to your spine and makes it seem as if it is a continuation of the two.
If you want extra cushioning in the bottom then you have many choices here, too. You can go with the traditional padding that you typically find in computer office chairs or you can upgrade and get foam that has its own memory. When you sit down it conforms to your body and doesn’t bunch up or give you uncomfortable ridges where material may gather.
The back is also important if you are sitting for long periods of time at a stretch. By going with an open weave backing it allows air to circulate and you won’t feel like you have to peel yourself off of the surface when you get up. It is also great in the summer when your clothing can become moist from normal body heat.
One of the most important considerations to make with computer desk chairs is to go with or without wheels. This will depend on how much moving you do while sitting. If your desk is larger or L-shaped then you may need the mobility that comes with wheels. They are also convenient when you have additional work areas behind you.
But if you tend to remain stationary then you can go with one of the cheap computer chairs where a simple swivel design will suffice.
